A successor to the KH 310 A and brand’s first entry into a new midfield monitoring category lead a series of recent additions spanning studio monitoring and wireless vocal capture for Neumann.

The KH 310 II retains the three-way sealed format and 3-inch soft-dome midrange driver of its predecessor, while almost every other part of the monitor has been re-engineered. A new woofer provides greater linear excursion and reduced intermodulation distortion, while the updated model delivers 5dB higher SPL and improved linearity of ±0.6dB from 100Hz–10kHz. Its external dimensions remain identical to the KH 310 A, simplifying replacement in existing installations.

Joining it is the KH 350, a three-way bass reflex midfield monitor intended for larger listening distances and applications requiring greater low-frequency output. Positioned between the KH 310 II and KH 420, it extends down to 30Hz ±3dB and 27Hz ±6dB, with the German manufacturer stating that its full-range performance can remove the need for a subwoofer in many setups. A large MMD waveguide provides controlled directivity for multichannel and immersive environments.

Both monitors share an 8.25-inch woofer, 3-inch midrange driver and 1-inch tweeter, alongside the same Class-D amplification and 32-bit DSP platform. MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment is supported, with analogue and digital AES3id inputs provided. Consistent voicing across the KH range is intended to allow different models to be combined in stereo, multichannel and immersive systems.

Neumann has also replaced its KK 204 and KK 205 wireless capsule heads with the cardioid KK 104 A and supercardioid KK 105 A. Both use the condenser capsule technology found in the company's KMS wired stage microphones and are compatible with Sennheiser Spectera, EW-D, EW-DX and Digital 6000/9000 handheld transmitters.

The new capsule heads feature improved suppression of handling noise, integrated shock mounting and pop protection. A fixed low-cut filter compensates for proximity effect during close miking, while a hardened steel grille incorporates a pop screen to protect the capsule from moisture and control plosives and sibilance.

The KK 104 A's cardioid pattern is said to provide a more forgiving response to performer positioning and head movement, while the KK 105 A's supercardioid pattern increases rejection and separation in crowded stage environments. Both are available in nickel or black.
