AtlasIED moves GLOBALCOM towards Dante with GCK17

AtlasIED has announced the release of GCK17, the latest software head-end powering its GLOBALCOM ecosystem. The update introduces two major advancements for large-scale paging and communication systems: a two-way integration with Sittig Technologies’ PAXGuide platform and Dante signal transport improvements.

GCK17 removes the need for CobraNet hardware or CobraNet-to-Dante bridges, allowing previously isolated networks to communicate directly while providing faster announcement triggering. The update follows AtlasIED's end-of-life plan for its CobraNet products and is intended to simplify upgrades for existing GLOBALCOM installations.

GCK17 also introduces two-way integration with Sittig Technologies' PAXGuide platform for airport applications. Gate agents can access real-time information including gates, airlines and delays through the touchscreen of a GLOBALCOM microphone station, while boarding calls and manual pages initiated from the GCK station can be synchronised back to PAXGuide. The integration also supports PAXGuide's multilingual and accessibility capabilities, providing a consistent flow of information between flight information and airport paging systems.
