Visitor movements, objects and physical interactions can now directly influence content running on HIVE's Beeblade media players following the addition of native support for Nexmosphere sensors and controllers. The integration connects Nexmosphere hardware to HIVE via USB or Ethernet, bringing data from multiple sensors into the Dataflow environment. Supported technologies include presence and motion detection, RFID, touch and push buttons, object detection, Lift & Learn, weight sensing and LiDAR.

A new Data Matching module allows integrators to create rules that trigger content in response to particular inputs, such as a visitor entering a zone or pressing a button. More complex interactions can be developed using a new Scripting module with JavaScript support. This could allow an exhibit to launch content as somebody approaches, switch to an interactive interface when a visitor stands in front of a display or use RFID to identify an object and trigger corresponding video. Communication can also work in the opposite direction, with HIVE able to send commands to supported Nexmosphere devices to control elements such as LED lighting.

The integration works across HIVE's Beeblade media player range and will form part of the latest HIVE software release.
