OPTIMOD Trio V.2 expands broadcast flexibility
OPTIMOD Trio V.2 expands broadcast flexibility
V.2 of Orban’s OPTIMOD Trio audio processor has been announced, incorporating new processing structures and a dedicated Digital Media mode extend the device’s role across FM, AM and digital broadcast applications
For FM workflows, a new standalone stereo encoder processing structure enables crossfading between pre-processed network feeds requiring overshoot limiting and locally produced programming requiring full audio processing. The update also adds APTmpX encoding, allowing composite/MPX signals to be transported over high- or low-bandwidth IP connections.
The new Digital Media mode provides 5-band or 2-band OPTIMOD processing together with integrated loudness control for digital radio, digital television and internet broadcasting. It can also be deployed in SMPTE ST 2110 environments for DTV applications, operating in stereo or dual-mono mode for bilingual broadcasts by separating media into independent essence streams.
OPTIMOD Trio combines analogue connectivity with dual AES3 interfaces, analogue composite and digital MPX signals and AoIP support for Dante or Ravenna. Processing modes can be switched within seconds, allowing the processor to serve as a backup device across different broadcast workflows. Optional capabilities include IPSOS, Nielsen or Kantar ratings watermarking, streaming monitoring, an internal backup audio player, backup audio over IP stream and APTmpX or µMPX.
The V.2 software is available as a free download for existing OPTIMOD Trio users and comes pre-installed on new units.
