Aiming to reduce the manual work involved in building an initial spatial audio show file, TiMax MCP is an AI assistant integration included with the latest TiMax2 SoundHub software for Mac and PC. Built around the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), it allows designers to connect a supported AI assistant and use conversational instructions to create and configure elements within SoundHub. According to the manufacturer, an initial show file that would typically require four or five hours of manual data entry can be reduced to around 30 minutes.

TiMax MCP can import loudspeaker layouts from Martin Audio DISPLAY 3, d&b ArrayCalc and EASE files before creating or editing Speakers and their positions, Image Definitions, Subspaces, Scaling Surfaces and Output Labels. It can also reconfigure venue orientation when the imported prediction file does not correspond with the orientation required in TiMax2.

The MCP server includes TiMax-specific product information covering the operation of SoundHub and concepts including Image Definitions, Subspaces, Scaling Surfaces and reference-point geometry, providing the connected assistant with context specific to the platform. The integration is deliberately limited to initialsetup rather than creative design, deployment or live show operation. Objects created through the AI assistant appear as standard TiMax objects and remain visible, editable and reversible within SoundHub.

TiMax MCP is included free of charge with the latest TiMax2 SoundHub release and does not require an additional licence. Users connect their own supported AI assistant account, with no TiMax hardware requiredduring the setup and design workflow.
