DisplayNote partners with Horion for simplified meeting room access

A new partnership between DisplayNote and Horion is bringing DisplayNote Launcher to Horion interactive flat panel displays, combining meeting access, room calendars and frequently used collaboration tools within a common interface. The integration is intended to reduce differences in the user experience between shared meeting spaces, allowing users to access supported conferencing applications and room schedules directly from the display. Meetings can be launched with a single touch, while frequently used tools can also be surfaced through Launcher.

“Great meeting-room hardware is only part of the experience,” commented DisplayNote CEO Ed Morgan. “What matters to the person walking into the room is whether they can start the meeting, access the tools they need and get on with the conversation without having to think about the technology behind it.”

DisplayNote positions Launcher as a software experience layer between meeting room hardware and the applications used within the space. The company said the integration can give organisations a more familiar workflow between rooms even where multiple conferencing and collaboration tools are in use.

“Horion has built a strong hardware platform and Launcher provides the software experience layer that sits on top of it,” continued Morgan. “Bringing those two elements together gives us an opportunity to remove more friction from the meeting room and create a more consistent experience for users.”
