Sennheiser supports Dubai audio engineering training
Sennheiser Middle East has provided professional wireless audio equipment and technical expertise for a training programme delivered by Skill Tech Audio Engineering Institute in Dubai, giving students hands-on experience with RF coordination and wireless microphone systems.
Held during September and October 2026 at Dr Head’s training centre, the programme was led by Skill Tech graduate and systems engineer Matthew Blankenburgh. Students worked with wireless microphone systems across handheld, headset, lavalier and gooseneck applications, covering practical RF setup and operation. The training included Sennheiser’s EW-DX system, with students learning to scan and coordinate frequencies, position antennas and route audio over Dante.
“Working with professional equipment is an essential part of developing confidence as an audio engineer,” said Andy James Ward BA MA, founder of Skill Tech Audio. “Live sound operators, freshers, stage techs and A2 operators must learn RF management, and hands-on experience is essential to that. Thanks to Sennheiser Middle East, Skill Tech Audio Engineering students get to work with a professional EW-DX system: scanning, coordinating frequencies, placing antennas and running audio over Dante, just as they will on real gigs. That kind of support is shaping the next generation of sound engineers in the region.”
Ryan Burr, technical application engineer EMEA at Sennheiser Middle East, commented: “Understanding RF coordination and management is an important skill for anyone working with wireless audio. We were pleased to provide Skill Tech’s students with equipment and technical guidance to help them understand these systems and approach wireless microphone setups with greater confidence.
“Through academic partnerships, hands-on access to equipment and specialised educational programmes, Sennheiser helps aspiring audio professionals develop their skills. This programme is a valuable opportunity to contribute to the next generation of audio engineers in Dubai and beyond.”
