Sonos Libra brings Theory Professional to Bangkok food hall
A Bangkok food hall designed to shift from daytime dining to evening entertainment has become the first commercial project in Thailand to deploy Theory Professional, following Sonos Libra’s recent appointment as distributor for the audio brand.
Located on the fourth floor of Gaysorn Amarin, ORK-ROS operates from 10am to midnight, replacing the former The Cook food court with a space intended for dining, meetings, work and socialising alongside DJ and live music events.
Sonos Libra selected Theory Professional loudspeakers to provide a distributed system that could adapt to these different uses while integrating with the venue’s architecture. The installation comprises 16 ic6 v2 and 16 ic6-PENDANT-B units, with sb25 loudspeakers forming the main PA for the performance area.
Four of the brand’s iws12-9 architectural subwoofers provide low-frequency reinforcement, while a DLC-250.4D handles amplification and DSP, including routing, matrix mixing, EQ, delay, gain and limiting.
The wider infrastructure includes Netgear networking and Klotz Cable cabling, with an Allen & Heath AHM-16 providing audio routing and zone control. An Allen & Heath CC7 touchscreen gives venue staff access to presets and automation, allowing system configurations to be selected for different times of day without requiring access to the full system configuration.
For DJs and live performances, an Allen & Heath CQ-18T digital mixer is integrated into the system, with a wall-mounted connection at the DJ booth providing a direct connection point for performance sources.
“Theory Professional is one of the new loudspeaker brands in our portfolio and what impressed us from the beginning was the combination of sound quality and compact design,” said Gle, head of education and engineering at Sonos Libra. “The system delivers remarkable clarity and a very comfortable listening experience, while maintaining a compact form factor that works well within architectural environments.”
Gle added that, following installation at ORK-ROS, the owner was very pleased with the result. “The loudspeakers did more than simply provide sound for the space – they genuinely helped transform the mood and character of the venue,” he confirmed. “For us, that is an important part of what a commercial sound system should achieve: not only performing technically but also contributing to how people experience the space.”
