Elation explores lighting choices in white paper
Elation has published a new white paper examining how the choice of lighting technology can affect colour, quality, control and consistency across entertainment applications.
Titled Light That Performs, the paper considers how different light engines can address specific creative and performance requirements, rather than focusing solely on fixture output. It examines three of Elation’s lighting technologies – TruSpectrum, TruTone and SpectraColor – and the different approaches they take to generating and controlling light.
“The best lighting technology isn’t the one that produces the most light, but the one that gives designers the right quality of light, control, and consistency for the job,” said Eric Loader, Elation global vice president, sales and marketing. “With no single metric or light engine solution capable of delivering every combination of colour and quality required across today’s diverse lighting applications, the challenge becomes choosing the technology best suited to the task.”
The white paper forms part of the manufacturer’s Quality of Light engineering pillar within its wider Art & Science of Light platform, which focuses on balancing lighting performance with designers’ creative requirements.
“Great lighting has never been just about how much light comes out of a fixture. It’s about what that light allows a designer to create,” added Loader. “TruSpectrum, TruTone and SpectraColor give designers different approaches for different creative needs, all built around one goal: delivering the right quality of light for the application. That’s what the Art & Science of Light is all about.”
