Visionary appoints Chris Floyd as design and support engineer
Visionary has appointed Chris Floyd as design and support engineer, bringing to the role 15 years of professional AV experience spanning systems design, programming, commissioning and technical support across enterprise and healthcare environments.
“Chris brings experience with the technical challenges our integrators and end users face throughout the life of an AV system,” said Visionary chief operating officer Scott Freshman. “He understands how design decisions affect installation, commissioning and day-to-day support, and he has worked through problems that involve control, audio, video and the network. Chris’ perspective is valuable to our engineering and support team as we help customers integrate Visionary technology into their systems.”
Floyd joins the AV-over-IP specialist from TEKsystems, where he worked as an AV systems engineer and control systems programmer. His responsibilities included programming Crestron, Q-SYS and Extron systems, configuring Biamp Tesira DSP and Dante audio networks and commissioning divisible-room and multiroom installations. He also worked alongside integrators, vendors and client IT teams to resolve networking, multicast, control and AV transport issues.
Previously, Floyd held engineering roles at AVI-SPL, designing and supporting enterprise AV and collaboration systems, developing standardised control interfaces and creating documentation to support consistent deployments. Earlier in his career, he spent more than 12 years at UC Davis Health, supporting boardrooms, medical education facilities, lecture halls and conferencing environments.
“I've worked with Visionary's technology from both the integrator and end-user sides, so I'm excited to now be part of the team behind it,” commented Floyd. “I'm looking forward to bringing my experience to Visionary and contributing to what the team is building.”
