LYNX sync signal
LYNX sync signal
Through combining frame synchronisation, up/down/cross conversion, motion adaptive deinterlacing and comprehensive audio embedding and de-embedding, the PVD 5440 DO from LYNX Technik can deliver signal processing capabilities in a single 12G-SDI Series 5000 card.
The frame synchroniser and multi-format video processor is designed for demanding broadcast and production applications, and is a solution for signal synchronisation, conversion, processing and audio management.
At the PVD 5440 DO’s core is the Up/Down/Cross (UPXD) processing engine, which incorporates LYNX Technik’s motion adaptive de-interlacing technology. The de-interlacing process uses motion-adaptive processing followed by diagonal interpolation which aims to deliver clean, detailed images and minimises common interlacing artefacts.
The processing engine also supports conversion between virtually all broadcast formats, with additional features including crop and zoom, horizontal flip, and a built-in test pattern generator with automatic failover when the unput signal is lost.
The PVD 5440 DO provides audio processing across 12G-SDI, MADI AND AES, which includes full embedding and de-embedding capabilities. A 136x200 audio crossbar provides flexibility for managing audio between all interfaces.
The card supports up to 64 audio channels over 12G-SDI, 64-channel MADI input and 64-channel MADI output. Two GPI inputs provide remote control for functions including input switching, video freeze, test pattern activation.
There are four AES audio channels in and four AES audio channels out, and channels can be routed, swapped, muted, mixed and gain-adjusted, with automatic monitoring for audio presence, silence and overload. The series 5000 card provides one 12G-SDI input and four 12G-SDI outputs, with one output configurable as loop-through.
The configuration, monitoring and status for the PVD 5440 DO are managed through LynxCentraal and will provide graphical control of the cards video, audio, synchronisation and system parameters.
