1 Sound supports flexible auditorium use
Ciputra University’s Dian Auditorium in Jakarta has installed a 1 Sound loudspeaker system designed to accommodate both speech-led events and larger performances, with additional portable reinforcement available when required.
Melodia Sound and Lighting Systems designed the system around the manufacturer’s Contour CT212 loudspeakers and SUB2112 subwoofers for the main left and right channels. The installation also includes a portable CT28 and SUB215 system for use as stage fills or additional main reinforcement.
The CT212 is a three-way, long-throw point-source loudspeaker capable of a maximum SPL of 145dB. Its 100° x 50° dispersion maintains constant directivity down to 200Hz, providing controlled coverage for spoken-word applications and performance environments. According to the team, the controlled dispersion and predictable off-axis response help focus sound within the intended coverage area while reducing unwanted sound onstage.
Paired with the SUB2112 subwoofers, the CT212 forms a five-way system combining controlled projection with low-frequency output. The configuration is intended to provide the auditorium with the headroom and coverage needed for presentations, performances and larger productions, while retaining clarity at lower listening levels.
For events requiring additional reinforcement, Melodia has also provided a portable system comprising Contour CT28 loudspeakers and SUB215 subwoofers. These can be deployed as stage fills or integrated into the main system to support larger events.
By using products from the same manufacturer for both the installed and portable systems, the venue now has options for adapting its audio configuration to different event requirements.
