Luminex Behind UNTOLD Festival’s Mainstage
Luminex Behind UNTOLD Festival’s Mainstage
Beyond the audience’s view, precision mattered as much as spectacle. Hundreds of lighting fixtures, custom artist floor packages and a relentless sequence of show cues depended on a network built to perform without interruption. On a production of this scale, every connection had to work, every second of every show.
Luminex technology formed the backbone of that network. Designed, configured and continuously monitored by Bogdan Nistor, it delivered redundant connectivity between control systems and distribution nodes across the entire Mainstage production. The system combined eight GigaCore 20t Ethernet switches, two GigaCore 30i switches, twenty-seven LumiNode 12 processing devices and twenty-eight Luminex SFP+ transceivers.
The equipment was supplied by Luminex’s Romanian distribution partner, Marbo Trade, and deployed by Production Manager Marius Balan together with Apart Productions. Combining precise system design with extensive on-site expertise, the team created an infrastructure capable of meeting the creative and technical demands of one of the world’s most ambitious festival stages.
Throughout four days of performances at UNTOLD Festival in Romania, the network operated seamlessly behind the scenes. Its stability allowed the production team to focus entirely on delivering the show, confident that every connection would perform as required.
For more than 300,000 festivalgoers, the result was four days of extraordinary visual experiences. For the professionals behind the Mainstage, it was proof that the most powerful network is often the one the audience never notices.
