Audio-Technica reintroduces a classic
First introduced in 1983, the ATM25 hyper-cardioid dynamic instrument mic has been reintroduced by Audio-Technica. A popular choice for percussionists, the classic kick-drum mic is known for its warmth, full-bodied punch and rugged reliability. In addition to kick-drum placement, the ATM25 is suited for capturing toms, brass and other dynamic instruments, and is reportedly a favourite amongst guitarists. With an ability to handle high SPLs, the dynamic mic offers a low-frequency response and tightly focused hyper-cardioid polar pattern. Additionally, it works well for close-up voiceover and radio broadcast work. Ensuring ease of setup and reliable performance, the all-metal body incorporates a gold-plated XLR-M connector, stand clamp and multilevel grille.
The manufacturer has also created a replacement headband for its ATH-M50x monitor headphones. Complete with its own screwdriver, the replacement HP-HBM50x headband restores the original look and feel of users’ M50x headphones.
