Lightware expands LARA room control
The LARA (Lightware Advanced Room Automation) Wizard platform has been expanded with Elgato Stream Deck integration. Promoting controlled customised room-control solutions without pre-programming, supported Stream Deck devices can operate as physical user panels for LARA configurations.
While touchpanels remain a popular option in meeting spaces, some applications benefit from a dedicated physical controller with clearly defined functions. By adding Stream Deck support, LARA adds intuitive room interfaces that match the requirements of each space.
LARA Wizard guides users through the process in four steps: choosing the compatible Lightware device and Stream Deck model, selecting the required room controls and arranging them on the interface. The Wizard automatically adapts the layout to the selected Stream Deck, ensuring controls only occupy physically available keys.
The configuration tool supports source selection, display and lighting controls, with up to two outputs and four source-selection buttons per output. Icons can be selected and the complete keypad can be previewed before generating and downloading the configuration. Real-time status feedback allows the keys to reflect what is happening in the room, including the selected source, disconnected inputs and device power. Stream Deck can connect directly to the host device’s service USB port or be positioned remotely over the network using an Elgato Network Dock.
Designed to fit a wide range of Lightware systems, the integration supports Stream Deck Mini, MK.2 and Neo models, in addition to all Taurus UCX/DCX devices, including TPX, TPN and MMX2 devices.
The manufacturer is also introducing GPIO Button control for its Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows (MTRoW) integration, giving users a simple, one-touch way to switch between the native Microsoft Teams Rooms system and BYOD operation with a physical button. Lightware already supports both Microsoft Teams Rooms and BYOD workflows through its Taurus UCX and TPX platforms. The addition of GPIO Button control gives users direct physical control over which operating mode they want to use, without requiring the Companion App or Microsoft Teams call-status monitoring.
