Bringing with it higher output, expanded mixing capabilities and improved wireless control features, Electro-Voice has introduced the second-generation of its EVOLVE portable column systems.
The EVOLVE 30M G2 delivers a maximum SPL of 125dB from a 19.4kg system with an integrated mixer, while the EVOLVE 50 G2 and mixer-equipped EVOLVE 50M G2 increase the maximum output to 129dB. All three provide 120° x 40° coverage and incorporate redesigned subwoofer handles and larger full-colour LCD displays.
Switchable 48V phantom power replaces the fixed 15V supply of the previous generation, allowing condenser microphones to be connected directly. QuickSmart Link is also now supported across all three models, enabling two EVOLVE systems to be connected using a standard Ethernet cable, while extended Bluetooth range provides greater flexibility for remote adjustments.
Processing improvements include Advanced Feedback Suppression, automatic ducking for announcements and expanded effects. The EVOLVE 50 G2 gains a single FX bank, while the 30M G2 and 50M G2 offer two banks with additional processing options.
Accompanying the hardware is QuickSmart App 3.0, which introduces an updated interface for wireless mixing, multi-speaker management, speaker grouping and True Wireless Stereo configuration. The free iOS and Android app also supports over-the-air firmware updates and can control mixed systems incorporating the larger EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 models.
