Malaysia:

Malaysian distributor Concept Associates (KL) has demonstrated an integrated Shure and Q-SYS solution designed to automate camera tracking in hybrid meeting environments, bringing together ceiling microphone technology and AI-driven video processing.

The showcase, titled Modern Conference “Tech” Tarik: Voice Meets Vision, was held at the distributor’s headquarters in Bandar Sungai Long, Kuala Lumpur, and attended by 50 systems integrators, IT consultants and enterprise partners.

The demonstration centred on the Shure MXA925 ceiling microphone and Q-SYS VisionSuite VSA-100 AI Accelerator, showing how audio information can be used to trigger camera automation without manual programming.

The MXA925 uses beamforming and Automatic Coverage technology to capture speech, with onboard IntelliMix DSP handling audio processing. The microphone then sends spatial coordinates to the VisionSuite VSA-100, which uses Talker Validation to confirm active speakers visually and Voice Activity Detection (VAD) to reduce false triggers caused by background noise. The integrated workflow is designed to enable camera switching based on speaker location, without requiring preset programming.

“Our goal at Concept Associates is to bridge the modern technology with the practical demands of regional systems integrators,” said Castrit Lim, managing director of Concept Associates. “Bringing Shure and Q-SYS together, demonstrates how a native, scalable ecosystem can drastically cut down programming time for engineers while delivering a seamless experience for end-users.”

The event included product presentations from Gerald Lee of Shure SEA and Pacific as well as Chua Cong Wei of Q-SYS SEA, alongside representatives from both manufacturers. Attendees also took part in practical demonstrations supported by Concept Associates application engineers Jeremy Thang and Kenny Yong.

The session formed part of the distributor’s Modern Conference “Tech” Tarik series, which brings together industry professionals to explore integrated AV technologies and their applications in workplace environments.
