D2N takes Cedar Audio down under

Australia:

Cedar Audio has expanded its presence in Australia through a distribution partnership with D2N – Technology Solutions, bringing the manufacturer’s audio restoration, dialogue noise suppression and forensic enhancement technologies to the local market.

The agreement will provide customers across professional audio, broadcast and postproduction with local product expertise, demonstrations, training and ongoing technical support. Founded in 2005, D2N designs, integrates and supports audio, communications and RF technology across broadcast, production, motorsport, sport, government, defence and industrial sectors.

The Cedar portfolio available through D2N includes the DNS2, DNS4 and DNS8 dialogue noise suppression systems, the Icons plug-in range, and Cedar Cambridge and Cedar Trinity solutions for forensic and audio surveillance applications.

Jason Owen, managing director of D2N Technology Solutions, said the companies’ product focus and technical expertise made the partnership a suitable fit. “The critical part is that Cedar Audio are the best at what they do,” he said. “From my point of view, they are very similar to other market leaders we represent and distribute in the sense that they are a great, very passionate and dedicated team who are very product focused with lots of smart people working for them. Cedar Audio and their products are a great fit with D2N and our customers, particularly as pro audio is one of our core focuses."

Paul Alexander, head of sales for Cedar Audio, said the company had been carefully assessing the Australian market and looking for a partner capable of representing the brand and delivering on its plans for growth. “We share very similar values and D2N's existing portfolio complements ours very neatly,” he explained. “Jason and his team have great energy and enthusiasm along with deep technical expertise and an impressive network of customers.”

Alexander also cited DN2’s local support model as a key benefit for the partnership.
