More MAUI for LD Systems

Developed for professional live applications, the MAUI G3 series from LD Systems comprises three column PA systems. The MAUI 44 G3, MAUI 44 G3 MIX and MAUI 66 G3 have a fully active 4-way architecture featuring dedicated driver groups, high headroom and controlled cardioid dispersion.

Providing 1,800W RMS (3,600W peak) and capable of producing a maximum SPL of 133dB, the MAUI 44 G3 and MAUI 44 G3 MIX models feature a 15-inch neodymium woofer delivering bass down to 34Hz. Producing 1,900W RMS (3,800W peak) and reaching up to 135dB SPL, the MAUI 66 G3 features an 18-inch neodymium woofer with bass response down to 28Hz. Reducing air turbulence and port noise, all three polyurea-coated subwoofer enclosures feature low-optimised bass-reflex ports.

The two-piece aluminium columns of the MAUI 44 G3 models combine 14 3.5-inch neodymium midrange drivers with four 1-inch compression drivers. The MAUI 66 G3 incorporates two extra midrange drivers, which are positioned above the tweeters to ensure that midrange frequencies are reproduced clearly over longer distances. Newly developed phase plugs and a BEM-optimised waveguide in the upper column element ensure uniform sound dispersion over a 120° x 25° pattern.

The passive cardioid design of the powder-coated aluminium columns focuses energy on the audience and attenuates rear dispersion in the 100Hz–1kHz range by up to 18dB. With an additional rear-facing MAUI 44 G3 SUB or MAUI 66 G3 SUB and the cardioid preset activated, the directionality can also be applied to the bass range. The inclusive DynX DSP (Gen 2) includes advanced peak, RMS and thermal limiters.

The MAUI 44 G3 and MAUI 66 G3 models include two XLR/jack combo inputs, two thru outputs and a dedicated subwoofer output. An integrated 8-channel digital mixer with eight XLR/jack combo inputs for direct connection of microphones, instruments and other line-level sources is included in the MAUI 44 G3 MIX. Live performances are enhanced with multiple sources, including Bluetooth audio streaming, internal effects and a footswitch input. With four monitor outputs available for independent monitor mixes, an additional output welcomes other components. All mixer and system settings can be controlled via the integrated colour display or wirelessly using the MAUI MIX App. With SysLink, two MAUI 44 G3 MIX units can connect to form a stereo setup with a total of 16 input channels.
