Pakistan's first JBL BRX installation arrives at Sialkot Medical College

Pakistan:

The 500-seat auditorium at Sialkot Medical College has become the first installation site for JBL Professional's BRX Series in Pakistan, following an audio upgrade designed to accommodate everything from academic lectures and medical seminars to film screenings and live performances. Local distributor and systems integrator KYAF Corporation designed and installed the system, combining JBL Professional loudspeakers with AKG microphones, Crown amplification and Soundcraft mixing equipment.

The college's multipurpose auditorium required consistent speech intelligibility for presentations and ceremonies, alongside the greater dynamic range and low-frequency reinforcement needed for entertainment programming. KYAF developed a system incorporating primary audience reinforcement, supplementary coverage and stage monitoring to accommodate these different requirements.

At the heart of the installation are eight JBL BRX308-LA line array elements, arranged in two flown arrays of four on either side of the stage. Two BRX325SP powered subwoofers provide low-frequency reinforcement for music playback, film screenings and live performances.

Four JBL VXP715 loudspeakers, positioned along the auditorium's side walls, provide additional coverage beyond the main arrays, while two EON712 powered loudspeakers serve as stage monitors for presenters and performers.

The microphone package includes two AKG CGN321 STS microphones for lectures and formal presentations, two WMS470 wireless systems for greater freedom of movement and two D5 microphones for vocal and speech applications. Six AKG P4 instrument microphones and a P2 low-frequency instrument microphone extend the system's capabilities to live music. A Soundcraft FX16ii mixing console manages the various microphone and programme sources, with Crown XTi 4002 amplification supporting the reinforcement system.

“We are extremely pleased with the performance of the system installed by KYAF Corporation,” said Zeeshan Ahmed Butt, CFO and head of IT at Sialkot Medical College. “The sound quality and clarity throughout the auditorium have been excellent and the system has proven equally capable for speech, multimedia presentations, movie playback and live programmes.”
