ASG appoints Bob Daniel

Advanced Systems Group (ASG) has appointed Bob Daniel as Storage and Workflow Solutions Architect within its Enterprise Storage team, bringing more than 30 years of experience in storage infrastructure and media workflows to the role.

In this role, Daniel will develop technical solutions for clients across media and entertainment and enterprise applications, tailoring systems designs to performance, reliability and budget requirements. His remit will include traditional storage environments and AI-related workflows.

Daniel has previously designed and implemented storage systems for major studios and postproduction facilities, as well as organisations in sectors including legal services and gaming. His experience includes more than 30 years with storage technology providers NetApp and LSI.

The appointment also expands ASG's technical resources as media workflows face increasing data demands from high-resolution production formats. Daniel highlighted the need for storage infrastructure to keep pace with developments in camera technology.

“The camera vendors are always pushing the edge, you know, pushing cameras to be better, and then that means the whole workflow has to be better from end to end,” Daniel explained.

At ASG, he will have access to a broader portfolio of manufacturers and technologies when developing solutions for customers. “Now I get to sell the right solution based precisely on the client’s needs,” he noted. “I’ve got a much broader portfolio to consider and an opportunity to learn new technology. I’ve been helping customers find the right solution for over 30 years, so it’s exciting to discover the latest in areas like media supply chain and networking.”

ASG president Dave Van Hoy said Daniel's experience would help customers align storage infrastructure with operational requirements, with the company's team supporting implementation.

Daniel also cited his existing relationship with ASG personnel as a factor in joining the company, having previously collaborated with the team on customer projects.
