Sound.com invests in Quantum852
Sound.com has expanded its live sound inventory with the addition of a DiGiCo Quantum852 mixing console, supplied by Indian distributor Hi-Tech Audio & Image. The investment marks the latest step in Sound.com’s ongoing relationship with Hi-Tech, which has seen the production company progress from the DiGiCo SD5 to the Quantum338 and now the Quantum852. The console joins an inventory that also includes the L-Acoustics L2 system.
Sound.com provides audio production for major artists and festivals across India, including Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh, Shreya Ghoshal, AR Rahman and AP Dhillon, as well as Lollapalooza and the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival.
The Quantum852 features dual, fully redundant Quantum Engines, Mustard Processing, Spice Rack FX and a Nodal Processing grid. These capabilities provide engineers with processing, connectivity and routing options for demanding touring and live production applications.
“For years, the ambition has been simple: put India’s biggest shows on the same footing as the best in the world,” said Warren D’Souza, CEO of Sound.com. “We have spent that time building our team, our craft and our standards, and what we needed was a console that matches them. The Quantum852 is that console. It tells every artist, tour manager and festival that a show here will be engineered with the same precision, wherever the stage is. Our engineers have earned the very best and this is another step in showing what Indian live sound can do.”
Hi-Tech Audio & Image’s CEO and founder, Rajan Gupta, commented: “Sound.com has built its name by backing the craft, season after season. The move from the SD5 to the Quantum338 and now the Quantum852 shows a team that keeps raising its own standard. For us at Hi-Tech, nothing matters more than the trust of partners like them. We are grateful that Sound.com continues to choose DiGiCo, and we will keep working to be worthy of that trust, on every console, every tour and every stage.”
